São José do Rio Preto, November 26th, 2008 “Renew your deeds in our day; in your time make them known” Habakkuk 3.2 2008 has been a blessed year here in São José do Rio Preto. I would have a lot to share, but I just detail some facts. We have invested many months spending time together with the youth of the neighborhood, closed to the church through sports. In July we prepared the I Rio Preto Camp, our first youth camp, with strong evangelistic emphasis, and we invited all these young people. Many of them, with whom we created a good friendship, participated in the Camp, and some of them received Jesus as Savior. Since then we have a youth cell group meeting every Saturday. All this work demanded time and availability to simply “be” together with the youth in a first moment and evangelize them later, in a proper time. We are going to repeat this Youth work with sports next year. During the second semester (fall in Norway, and spring in Brazil), some people joined a closer discipleship experience, what gives us hope for a bigger group of mature Christians for the leadership of the church next year. But the year isn’t over yet. In November 30th, we are going to have a special party and we hope to have many visitors. It’s about the 4th anniversary of the church in S. J. do Rio Preto. 2009 will be full of prayers in Church, so that God may manifest his power and empower us more and more to work in his mission. There is a lot to be done here! I would like to say “thank you” to all of you who have supported us, both financially and in prayers. We do need your intercession very much. Every body in S. J. do Rio Preto is very thankful to Arild Nyvoll and his family. They are going to leave us soon, before Christmas. This unique family dedicated more than four years helping this community in its first steps. May God bless them very very much back in Norway. We wish you all a marry Christmas and a 2009 full of blessings from the Lord! In Christ, Missionary Tiago Seilert
